LOL. No, I agree. This is not entertaining and it's not beneficial- it's punishment to Meredith simply for existing. She's not half as bad as she could be, with Ellis for a mother and Thatcher for a father. She grew up with no parental love or guidance, no friends, no family. She made it to about 30-ish with no connections whatsoever. And she really could be a hell of a lot worse. But apparently that's not the point- the point is, she's not perfect enough for Derek. And it's the same thing as with Marissa, to bring it back to the whole point of this thread. Marissa was punished for not responding like a textbook perfect therapy patient (despite the fact that she, you know, had no therapy).
