Okay, so, I haven’t really prepared an Oscar-ready speech, but this occasion calls for one, don’t you think? Me too.
First and foremost, I have to thank the posters. Without each and every one of you, the 100th Live in Love Thread would never even exist. You made this thread what it is today – a place where we can all gather and squee like teenage fangirls over a couple whjo took their romance from the screen and into reality; we can all come and talk about how we love these two, smile goofily over set stories between them, share our thoughts, our ideas, our hopes, our wishes, our….everything…
We’re not just posters on a random thread anymore either. We’ve become friends, sisters, Wildcats and family. I can honestly say, from this seat I sit in tonight, that I would not be anything if I did not know or talk to each and every one of you. And to think that just the thought, idea and reality that two people, who are deep in love with each other brought us all together is amazing.
And to all who when I asked if you wanted to plan anything for this landmark thread and jumped up and down, raised their hands and pushed and pried their way to the front of the line to say, “Yes! We want to help! What are we doing?” - merci de tout. This means – Sarah, Peggy, Chay, Lo, Rachel, Jule, Amy & Julina, who did a tremendous job with getting everything together. Tugba, Boujke, Athena & Lo did amazing on the arts featured throughout this thread and deserve all the recognition in the world.
The next thing I have to say is a big giant THANK YOU to Kenny Ortega and Ashley Tisdale. Yeah, you’re like WHAT? But just think about how important those two people are for Zac & Vanessa. Kenny – you kept pairing these two up in auditions and Ashley – you’re the best friend, Matchmaker Goddess Best Friend all in one and we all do not have enough possessions or words in the universe to thank you.
My final thank you, has to be for our couple – Zachary & Vanessa….who will one day be Mr. & Mrs. Efron (or so we all hope).
I have no more words to say to you two other than thank you. For it has taken me over a half hour to write this alone and….yeah, we thank you for giving those “subtle” hints, those looks, those smiles, those giggles, say ok, Hawaii, beaches, bowling, strawberry ice cream, London, skateboarding, bracelets, rings, pizza….everything, and for giving us a place to come and gossip and talk about you two together. You’ve given us so much and you don’t even know it.
Our one wish is simple for you two. And it’s this:
You kids be happy. One of these days you'll make the rest of us believe in true love. For some of us, you already did.
