| Hello all - first time poster.
I used to be a big Trekkie back in my teens, but slipped out of it over time (after DS9 and Voyager ended, but still watched the films).
I loved TNG above all else, Picard is G-d!
But I have to say DS9 had the best story line for me with the Dominion War. I only got back into it very recently when I started watching DS9 episodes online and suddenly it felt like everything I knew from years gone by came flooding back from my repressed memory.
I got into Star Trek very late actually, when First Contact was at the movies and my friend convinced me to go with him and a few others. I was hooked, and started watching TNG at every opportunity (then it was on everyday at 5pm here in the UK). DS9 was probably at the start of season 4 I believe, and that was it, I couldn't get enough.
Favourite scene in Star Trek? Probably Picard's confrontation with Gul Madred in Chain of Command. But DS9 had two moments for me when I leapt out of my chair. Watched Season 5's ending "A Call To Arms" with a few school friends (I was 15 or so at the time) when the Defiant and Rotarran joined up with that massive fleet (how was I supposed to know most were going to be destroyed?) but my absolute favourite scene was in the Battle to retake DS9 and the Klingons suddenly decloaked and started firing on the Dominion in the middle of the battle - I still remember jumping up waving my clenched fist when it happened.
I've seen all TNG episodes, most, barring 10 or so DS9, over half of Voyager, none of Enterprise and a few TOS, including all 10 Star Trek films.
When I was in school I even designed a ship manifest where I divided my whole year class up into rank, senior officers, departments, the whole lot.
I was literally obssessed with Star Trek at the time, even got back from work on Saturday's to watch TOS, TNG, DS9 and Voyager all being shown back to back here.
Never been to a convention, but might be interested.
Thanks
Sorry to bore you with my life story. |
