| Here's some background on the negotiations.
From what My Friend says, SP believes this half hour comedy to have the possibility of being groundbreaking in its concept. He wanted to do this show but pulled out last week because the attitude of certain executives made him feel that they had no respect for him. No one wants to work for people who don't respect them. He told them that he wasn't interested in the part last Tuesday, 6/19.
The CW audition other actors beginning 6/16 but didn't see anyone else that they felt was right for the role.
So, little over a week ago (around the 21st), the CW came back to SP apologizing for the "misunderstanding" and begging him to reconsider their offer. Evidently the writers, the producers, and just about everyone connected with the show (except perhaps one) really felt SP was perfect for the part.
Evidently he agreed with them. |
