Author's Note: I started thinking about what the rivalry might have been like between Nathan and Peter when they were growing up, and how their mother might have reacted to their antics. So here is a speculative fic about just that. Also, the title was inspired by the song "In the Heart of the Young" by Winger.  Happy reading!
