Lorelai and Rory planning their summer trip. Coney Island then amusement ride in Chicago. Rory has sent out 74 resumes. She’s unpacking and finds the rocket. She hasn’t talked to him, it comes in waves, Lorelai says the waves will get smaller, with time. Rory can’t imagine it feeling better. Asks if it feels better with Luke. Lorelai says yes, we’re done, she’s over him, she needs someone who can feel and show her how he feels, they’re better as friends, Rory says Luke isn’t over her. Lorelai mentions the Graduation Reenactment Party. Rory didn’t know about it.

Diner – Luke is planning food for Rory’s party, with a vendor. Liz comes in with Doula, Luke is too busy and can’t babysit. Liz asks if he gave Lorelai the necklace, Luke says it was a back-up gift for Rory.

FND – Emily complains that Rory is taking a meeting instead of coming, it’s not a proper interview so shouldn’t eat into FND. Lorelai says yes, they’ll be riding roller coasters for a month. Lorelai says it’s her last shot, because Rory will move on. Richard asks about the Inn. Emily says Lorelai should add a spa to the Inn, a destination spa.... Rory arrives. She got a job. She leaves in 3 days. The drinks were with Hugo Grey, runs online magazine, reporter covering Obama dropped out so she got the job. []
How can she go on all the roller coasters if she has to leave. Lorelai says it’s fine, this is what she’s been working for. Rory says she’ll have real press credentials. Emily – this is the last time we’ll see you for who knows how long. All 3 adults look sad.

Rory and Lorelai enter diner, Luke says Caesar is trying to prove he could handle things if Luke was away even though his boat trip is cancelled. Lorelai tells him she has to cancel the Reenactment food and party because Rory got a job. Kirk overhears, townies complain about not getting reenactment. Lorelai and Rory do a quick “graduation skit” but townies say it’s not the same. “So this is good-bye” “No more like a see you later” (from promos). Townies pissed no party. L&R leave, Luke’s face is a total study.

Inn – Luke talking to Sookie. He suggests they do Rory’s party anyway, as a surprise. Luke says Rory would love it. Sookie says Lorelai would love it too. He says yeah, Rory and Lorelai

Lorelai and Rory shopping. She needs a new booklight cos Paris stole hers. They go to Miss Patty’s to get something and it’s locked and Miss Patty barely cracks the door open. We see townies pressed against the wall so the girls don’t see them. Town meeting – Taylor complains it’s “unofficial” and starts telling Luke he needs permits for outdoor barbequeing. . Miss Patty says if the meeting is unofficial then so are permits. Party planning. Lulu offers streamers and balloons. Taylor doesn’t like it being irregular, Zach gets sarky, Luke says they’re doing it anyway, stands up and takes over the planning, everyone ignores Taylor.

Lorelai and Rory walking, Lorelai won’t interrupt her time with Lane and she has to get the fanny pack from Miss Patty. Lane and Rory talking, Zach interrupts. He just got a call from Luke to start setting up the sqaure. So Lane has to send Rory home so she won’t see. Lane says no it’s her last night with her friend. Zach: “I’m just the messenger”. Lane goes back, Rory is freaking out, nervous she won’t be good at the job. Lane says it’s new, she was nervous - she was 30% pregnant, 70% fear of being the world’s worst mom. Rory doesn’t want to leave her mom, says Lorelai isn’t freaked out or sentimental at all. Lane is sure Lorelai is freaking out on the inside. They get smoochy about leaving each other.

Rory goes home to CW, Lorelai is ironing. Chit-chat, Rory says how can Lorelai be OK with everything. Lorelai says it’s too soon, if she stops to think about it, she’ll fall apart, they still have time left.Rory says she’ll iron, Lorelai can fold.

Setting up in the square – Luke in charge, Jackson there, Lulu and Miss Patty got tablecloths from Eastside Lilly. Babette comes running out of breath – stormfront moving in, it will rain. Jackson says it’s 1am. Everyone is ready to give up.

CS – Lorelai goes in to look at Rory sleeping. la-la’s. She looks very tender – sits on bed to pull up rory’s covers. She’s crying now. So am I.

Diner – Luke is sewing a bunch of different colored tarps together. By now it’s obvious LL won’t interact till the last minute.

Girls in jeep, drive into town, see bon voyage party (promo photos). It’s pouring. Zach and – TJ? – run out with umbrellas. Rory asks Lorelai if she knew, L says she didn’t do a thing. Townies all clapping – Luke clapping from promo photo. Kirk presents Rory with her sash, puts it on. Miss Ptty: We wouldn’t let you go without a party. Lorelai sees E&R, says she’ll be right back, Emily says they heard about it from Sookie last night. Lorelai can’t believe they did it for Rory, Richard says they did it for Lorelai too and the home she created here. Richard starts to say they regret ... tells Lorelai it takes a remarkable person to inspire all of this. Lorelai nearly cries. The party starts. E&R and Lorelai clapping together. Taylor starts speechifying. Invites Rory to say a few words. Rory: I love this place, loved growing up here. Thank you so much. Cut to Luke looking totally proud. Indiscribable. Rory – thanks to my mom to whom i owe everything and whom i’m going to miss so much. They start the party. Wow = LL finally in the same frame. Luke is serving food, Lorelai’s waiting for some but Emily interrupts and pulls Lorelai away to offer a loan for the spa – and we’d have to see each other. Lorelai says the FNDs will continue. She’s gotten used to it.

Emily tells Rory it’s an honor to be her grandmother, E&R leaves, Sookie walks up – tells Lorelai ‘this was all Luke, he did all of it.” It’s 8.52 and Lorelai finally has her epiphany. “I’ll be back” from the promo. Taylor tells Lorelai to tell Luke he’s responsible for the clean up. Lorelai walking up to Luke. Says thank you. Luke” It’s no big deal. Pining gazes. I just like to see you happy. They move into the kiss together. Good kiss, for 3 seconds. (8.55pm.) Camera pans away to the tent with townies partying.

CS, Lorelai says she thought she had more time then tells Rory to get a window seat, babbles on about seats on the bus. Rory is about to cry. Lorelai babbles on ... Rory says ‘mom’ twice. Finally stops Lorelai and says ‘Mom, you’ve given me everything I need’. Lorelai: Shall we?Rory: What’s the rush, it’s 5am

Diner, Girls at table, Luke pouring coffee. They babble about menu. Lorelai to Luke: “I’m going to need a minute I can’t decide,” kind of flirty. He tells her, "Take all the time you want." They’re beaming at each other, then the girls say what they want, Luke goes to get it and THAT IS ALL.

Rory tells Lorelai she likes her necklace. Lorelai touches it and smiles. Camera pans out while girls are chatting and Luke behind counter. That's it. They're back together. The Effing End.
