The last last episode summary again:

Episode 7.22: Bon Voyage Air date: 15 May 2007

Written by: David S. Rosenthal
Directed by: Lee Shallat Chemel

The teaser: it's Rory and Lorelai at the CS. Rory is getting her 73 resumes stamped. They are talking about their trip and all the rollercoasters they are gonna go on.

Quote:
LORELAI'S HOUSE – RORY'S ROOM
[Lorelai is on the bed with a Laptop]

LORELAI: All right after “Great Adventure” the next Roll-a-coaster would be here at Lake Compounds, home of the “Boulder Dash”.
RORY: Love it.
LORELAI: “The number one choice of wooden roll-a-coasters” according to Mr Arthur Levin of about.com.
RORY: Oh yes the venerable Mr Levin, a legend in coast criticism.
LORELAI: So you’ve heard of him.
RORY: Well of course what coast connoisseur hasn’t?
LORELAI: “Great air time” he says “smooth ride, relentless speed from start to finish” you can admit it if you’re scared.
RORY: What I’m not scared, are you scared?
LORELAI: No I’m not scared, I’m not the one who screams.
RORY: That happened once.
LORELAI: Really busted my eardrums.
RORY: You want to keep talking smack or you want to tell me what comes after the Boulder Dash?
LORELAI: How about the “Cyclone” in Coney Island. And then we can head west to the “Milium Force” Ohio, this calls it a “Giga Roll-a-coaster”.
RORY: You know what I say, no hands, eyes open that’s right you heard me.
LORELAI: I’ll believe it when I see it.
RORY: Well believe it. Okay I am done, 74 résumé’s, addressed and sealed.
LORELAI: Not at all excessive.
RORY: Well I just wanted to make sure I didn’t leave a stone unturned.
LORELAI: Yes rocks, pebbles, boulders they’ve all been turned.
RORY: Well I got it all done before our big trip, can you believe it. OH man I have a lot of books.
LORELAI: Hey there is a cool “State Fare” coaster in Springfield, 50-mile detour, worth it.
RORY: Hum. Aw [pulls something out of a box].
LORELAI: Aw.
RORY: The rocket.
LORELAI: The rocket. Have you talked to him.
RORY: No. It comes in waves, you know, big ones, really close together.
LORELAI: Well the waves will get smaller, I promise. Just have to give it time you know. Have to feel sad and get through it.
RORY: Believe me I’m letting myself feel plenty sad.
LORELAI: Oh that’s good, I mean it’s not good you know, under the circumstances, it’s good.
RORY: I just can’t imagine it feeling better.
LORELAI: But it will someday I promise.
RORY: Yeah, do you feel better about Luke?
LORELAI: [Not sounding convincing] Ah, yeah I feel better because I think we’re done.
RORY: What, maybe you guys just need more time.
LORELAI: More time, I‘ve given him all the time in the world. Every time I’m venerable or I say something or do something like the song he doesn’t do anything.
RORY: We;; he’s always been a little slow to respond.
LORELAI: Yeah I don’t want to make any more excuses you know.
RORY: I just don’t think he’s over you.
LORELAI: Well it doesn’t matter, I’m over him. I need someone who can feel you know, show me how he feels. He can’t do that.
RORY: I guess that make sense.
LORELAI: Anyway we’re batter as friends you know, don’t you think. Like “Hey Luke can I get some coffee”, you know friends like that. Like “Hey Luke can you make all the burgers for Rory’s re-enactment graduation party?” you know.
RORY: What re-enactment graduation party?
LORELAI: It’s just a graduation re-enactment party we’re gonna have for all the people who couldn’t go to your actual graduation.
RORY: Re-enactment, how?
LORELAI: All you have to do is throw on that cap and gown again, you know and go up on a little podium again, that someone is gonna build and listen to the high school band play “Pomp and Circumstance”.
RORY: Mom!
LORELAI: What it’s a party, it’s gonna be fun!
RORY: Ah, you own me.
LORELAI: Okay I’ll get you lots of cotton candy and I won’t make fun of you when you scream.
RORY: I’m not gonna scream.
LORELAI: Once a screamer, always a screamer.
RORY: I was seven.
LORELAI: Like that counts.
- Someone did see them painting something on the ground inside of the DFI stage. It was a curtain of some kind and they were using stencils to paint various fish and seahorses on it. Maybe somehow that ties into the whole Bon Voyage theme?

- CNN Journalist Christiane Amanpour will make a guest appearance. Rory meets her at DFI. A scene with Rory and Lorelai.

- Lorelai and Rory plan a summer trip together but have to cancel when Rory gets a new job.

- Filming at Sookie's house. There was black tarp around the front porch, so it's a night scene at Sookie's.

- There's a nighttime scene in Sookie's in which sookie gives Lorelai a fannypack.

- Lorelai plans a Rory graduation party for all the townies.

- Rory lands her dream job as a political reporter.

- Rory is going to Iowa. She gets a job with an online magazine.

- Lorelai cancels a week before the party because there is no time with all that has to be done to get Rory off to Iowa.

- The townies are bummed since they not only missed graduation but will miss Rory's party too.

- Fearing it will rain on Rory's graduation party in Stars Hollow, Lorelai enlists Luke's help to organize the town in creating a tent out of tarps, shower curtains and other miscellaneous spare plastic.

- Lorelai tells Luke that they have to cancel a party. Lorelai cancels Rory's party, but Luke goes ahead and plans it as a surprise.

- Luke organizes tha party.

- A scene showing Sookie and Lorelai. Lorelai was tearing up and Sookie told her that this was all Luke, and that he must have stayed up all night setting up.

- A huge "Bon Voyage Rory" party in the town square, complete with dance floor, disco balls (they replaced the bell in the gazebo with a little disco ball, lol), and a big colorful tarp covering the gazebo and entire party area. There's a sign that was made that says "Bon Voyage, Rory”. It's raining on the show so the streets were all wet. There were lots of odd tables and chairs on the grass under the tarp, and all different kinds of funny lamps on the tables.

- The old jeep is alive. A scene where Lorelai (and Rory?)was driving in circles around the town square in her Jeep.
Rory and Lorelai pulling up to the party and everyone cheering.

-. Emily and Richard attend the huge party, where Rory makes a speech thanking Lorelai and the whole town for giving her such a great start in life.

- Luke’s thoughtfulness brings out an unexpected reaction from Lorelai.

- L&L walking towards eachother and then kissing.

- L&L kiss happens shortly after Luke single-handedly prevents Rory's graduation party from becoming a total washout.

- After Lorelai kisses Luke, he reciprocates as well.

- A scene with Luke and Lorelai:

Quote:
“This might be my last shot.”
“I just like to see you happy.”
“Luke”
- Lorelai and Luke come to a “new understanding”.

- We'll definitely know that L/L are together at the end, and that there is "more than a handshake" but no love/bed/sleeping together scene. It is like the end of Season 4 (when they had the kiss at the inn) and that Luke and Lorelai are kind of at the end of where they were in Season 4.

- The morning that Rory leaves Stars Hollow to start her career, Luke opens the diner before dawn to share a celebratory breakfast with the Gilmore girls.

- The final scene features three characters and, per one source, "brings the show full circle." Rory has one last meal at the diner, and the final scene of the S7 finale mirrors the final scene of the pilot.

The final scene between Lorelai and Rory, which Lauren described for me during our chat: "It ends with a shot that mirrors the closing shot of the pilot, which really represents the show. It's Lorelai and Rory sitting in the diner talking about really nothing. Just having a moment together." She added that most of the story lines get resolved by the end of the hour. "Had we come back, I think it would've been a little bit like, 'Oops, never mind!'"

-----------

- The mansion was also set up for filming. There were 4 table settings and they were set up all sorts of weird. There was a setting at each end, with another set on the corner of each end instead of in the middle of the sides.

- They were filming in Luke's.

- Someone on the tour saw the party clothes for the extras and they were filming at Ms. Patty's. We also see Sean Gunn,Taylor, Ms. Patty, and Lorelai.

- Logan is not appearing in the finale, but is referenced during a conversation between Lorelai and Rory.

- Weston's had tables and chairs outside with some women seated at them.

-They were tearing setting up a secret set. Intrigue!

- Crap Shack stage. There was frozen pizza in the freezer, Chinese food in the fridge, and no pop tarts to be found! There was also an ironing board in the living room, but no doll house. Christopher's TV was on the wall.

- There was a room with wedding dresses, one hanging in each corner, and a table with some sort of weird shaped wedding arrangement thingy. There was a sign hanging over the table that said somebody + somebody = love.

- Tour description:

Quote:
We can't remember the names. Jay and somebody I think. It wasn't a storage room. Definitely looked like it was set up for filming a scene. The dresses looked like they were hung up on display and there was one that looked like Mrs Kim's, all old fashioned and funky. The rest were normal. One table had a centerpiece and some other decorations on it - maybe glitter or little wedding bands, that kind of stuff. Something sparkly.
- Bunches of balloons inside the church.

Quote:
- Rory says: “My mom, is just everything to me and who I’m going to miss so much.”
“If I stop to think about you leaving…I’m gonna fall apart.
