Double post, but I need a different post for the transcript of the Charlie Brennan Interview

Host: Matt Czuchry is with us on the line right now. Not every day it is that we get a qualified television star on the broadcast. But here we have Logan from the critically acclaimed tv show ‘Gilmore Girls’, back in St. Louise, if only on the airwaves. Goodmorning Matt, how are you doing?

Matt: Hey man, I’m doing great. Thank you for having me on.

Host: Hey you got some connections in St. Louis, don’t you?

Matt: I do, absolutely. Actually one of my closests friends, my roommate in college, he lives in St. Louise.

Host: Now what is his name?

Matt: His name is Casey.

Host: Casey? And what does he do? Is he an actor also?

Matt: He’s not..Actually he is a lawyer. We played tennis together at the college in Charleston and we roomed together. We were double partners, he is one of my best friends. I definitely have a strong connection with St. Louise and I love the city and have been there several times.

Host: Is it true Matt, but somebody told me that on New Year’s eve or on some other occasion you’ve gotten lost, trying to find a party or...

Matt: (laughs) I did. Actually when I was visiting my buddy Casey I mentioned that i was in St. Louise, and the good friend that he is, like I just said, he left me and I was completely lost, and it was raining and I didn’t know where I was. One of my stories of when I was back in St. Louis is being washed in the rain and my buddy he’s so kind to leave me there.

Host: Well that’s a metaphor for many of us, I’m sure. (Matt lauhgs) Hey you know, Gilmore Girls, is the whole season in the can right now or is it still shooting. What’s the deal there Matt?

Matt: Yeah we’re on episode nr. 7 right now, out of 22. So we go from, we start in June and we go to the end of April. So it’s a long run. It takes about 8 days to film 1 episode.

Host: USA Today says this may be the final season.

Matt: It might be you know. Uhm.. It hasn’t been set definitely one way or another. That has kind of been brought of because Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel who play the two main characters of the show, their contracts are coming up and it’s a new network. You never know. This could be the last but it definitely hasn’t been set one way or the other, whether it will come back or whether it is indeed the last season.

Host: You didn’t go to Yale, but Logan did.
Matt: Right.

Host: But you play tennis where you love from privilige like Logan. (???)

Matt: You know Logan is from so much privilige, but I wasn’t. He has unlimited fun, and kind of the way I approached that with that character is that he definitely uses that money in his advantage to the sense that there’s a sense of freedom with him. In college he understood that he could do pretty much whatever he wants, which he did. He pushed Rory’s buttons and challenged her to open her often to a new way and I think that’s what kind of is exciting about this character is opening uhm..., Rory up to new and exciting things that come from his privilige and background.

Host: But your daddy does not like Rory, because she’s not blue blooded enough, right?

Matt: You know, it is a little bit of that. I think that my father on the show just wants to see his son being everything that he possibly can be and that’s partly why we kind of saw him last season kind of being shipped off to London to take over the business and that’s a huge part of the storyline and the beginning of this season, that premieres tonight, is that Logan kind of is passionate about something for the first time in his life and actually enjoys this business aspect. So it’s a new way to go for this character.

Host: So, like behind the scenes, are you able to walk in any urban scenes these days and go unnoticed?

Matt: It’s uhm you know.. It’s a little bit tricky for me to know if it’s going to happen or if somebody might recognise me, who enjoy the show and want to come up to talk to you. It is kind of a part of my life now, that is new. Over the course of the past three years where people who are fans of the show that have been watching it for 7 years who come up and say that they enjoy what you do. That’s definitely something I think about when I’m out.

Host: Is Sean Gunn now on the series as well?

Matt: Yes.

Host: Well he’s one of the all time great St. Louisants, went to St. Louise University high school, did you know that?

Matt: I did not know that. But he is hilarious.

Host: Well all these Gunn boys are. Including his brother James, who writes scripts. Do you know James Gunn?

Matt: I don’t know him personally. But it’s a talented talented family.

Host: And his dad is with us on the line right now, James Gunn. Goodmorning James Gunn! How are you?

James: Goodmorning Charlie, how are you?

Host: I’m great. Say hello to Matt Czuchry! Matt say hello to Sean Gunn’s dad, James Gunn.

Matt: Oh my God, how is it going?

James: Fine Matt. I just want to tell you that Sean has said some great things about you and I heard you on Charlie’s programme, of course which is one of my favorite programms in st. Louis. I had to call him to say ‘Welcome’ and you’re doing a great job. And tell Sean that he needs to call his mother.

Matt: You are very very kind and I will do that. Sean is an unbelievable person and he’s so so so talented and I told him that if I ever got to the place where I could do the things that he has done, as far as he has done with comedy. It’s hilarious. So many people have come up to me to say just how much they love his character, that how much he brings to the show. So it’s a pleasure to meet you over the phone and get a chance to talk to you. So thank you for calling in and I’ll tell sean to call his mother.

Host: All right..... pardon me? I think we lost.. oh well thank you very much! That would be dad James, and Matt Czuchry, Logan. Thank you so much for joining us. Good luck on Gilmore Girls, 7 o’clock. I keep having trouble, it doesn’t flow off my lips, like it should. It’s on the CW right?

Matt: Yes it’s the CW. It’s a new network, a combination of the WB and UPN and CBS. The CW stands for CBS and Warner. Maybe that will help.
