Chad’s Birthday Project

As some of you may know, I am responsible for the Chad Birthday Project. This year will be its 7th year. I swore that last year’s project would be the final year, but Chad has been so gracious to his fans, including me, so it’s difficult for me to not return his kindness this year.

The CBP is a book full of letters, notes, cards, arts, poems, etc. from fans for Chad’s birthday. I compile all of it into a kind of scrapbook, and each year it is delivered to him.

It may seem early, but I like to collect as many submissions as possible and give everyone sufficient time to create something.

You may submit anything you would like for the book. There are a few rules though:

• SPELL CHECK. I don’t expect perfect grammar, but there’s no reason to use “u” for “you” or “thx” for “thanks.”
• No submission should go over the size of standard copy paper (8.5” x 11”)
• Nothing about his personal life will be included in the book – that means nothing about his relationships
• No autograph requests. I understand the appeal, but this is a birthday gift. I've never heard of him returning any requests in the project anyway.

Some ideas for submissions:

• A letter explaining why you’re a fan and what you like about his work
• A birthday card
• A poem
• A music video
• E-mail me if you want to discuss more ideas. I’m always willing to help someone come up with a submission.

I hope everyone here will participate! Even if you have no idea what to say, just a short note saying that you appreciate his work and that you wish him a happy birthday would be great.
