Ok the married part I could have done without for sure but DS had a contract for an A-Storyline (main storyline) in those 13 episodes this season WITH Lorelai. What was Rosie supposed to do with a character like Christopher who always came back and ended in whatever kind of situation with Lorelai. Let them be buddies for once and just hang ? How does work ? Not in my Gilmore girls world since Chris was always just interested in getting back together with Lorelai and finally marry her. Took him three proposals, an emotionally broken Lorelai and a big push to finally get her where he wanted but well if it works for him - oh no wait it didn't. Entering that marriage with the complete knowledge of being her No.2 (in my opinion he wasn't even an option. She just took him because he was there and willing) and when things didn't go his way he all of a sudden couldn't live with being No.2 anymore. The whole LC experiment makes way more sense to me than what Amy tried to sell us last season. LLDs and LL not communicating - oh please

I would have totally gone for it in season 3 since it would have made sense there. Now after being with Luke and finally being really in love and everything this whole Christopher issue is dumb and stupid. Changing your storyline just because an actor is now finally available after years of waiting for that to happen is beyond me. Her characters didn't stand still. They moved forward, changed, learned things and got over certain issues from the past. The only character that hasn't been through a change was Christopher since he was never a big part of the show. Amy did a few good steps in season 6 regarding the relationship between Rory and him but totally blew it with Partings once again. She throw them right back into their old f-buddy, we do what we want no matter how many people we hurt on our way as long as we have fun relationship.

Maybe the teeny tiny fact that Lorelai didn't love or wasn't IN love with him played a role in that whole experiment ? That Christopher wanted things Lorelai was not able to give him - moving, kids, love.

Because he NEVER was an option. She didn't want to marry him when she was 16. She said no to his proposal in season 1. He made clear he didn't want her in season 2 because he had Sherry, came back as things didn't go his way just to leave her again because Sherry was pregnant. She went after Luke in WBB and had no contact to him till he contacted her after getting tons of money. She made no move or showed any signs of being interested in him during season 6. Only after Luke didn't ask how high he should jump after she demanded it she went to him. She jumped him, got back at Luke with that action and forgot for one night the pain she felt. That was it. The only reason she went back to him in episode 4 was because Luke told her she should be with a guy like Chris. She never wanted to be with him and Chris knew that but still dragged her into the mess. It was a long time coming, 20 years in the making after all

You know what. Rosie stayed absolutely true with the LC relationship they had going for as long as we know them. What's their pattern ?

They have sex, she gets pregnant, he wants to marry her, she says no and he leaves.

16 years later they have sex, she doesn't get pregnant but he still asks her to marry him, she says no and he leaves.

6 years later they have sex, she doesn't get pregnant but DS has a 13 episode contract, he asks her to marry him and because he has the aforementioned contract, Lorelai knows when she says no he'll disappear again so logical consequence she says yes.
