I think that Luke explained himself a lot better than Lorelai. Though, it was right and proper that she apologize first. All she said was that it was wrong; and that she never told him that before and wondered why. Luke, when apologizing, explained what he thought he did to ruin the relationship. By using the word "compartamentalize", he obviously has been thinking long and hard why all this was happening to him -- possibly realizing things with that shot of him sleeping in April's bed -- our first sign of his remorse. No, I don't think that Luke will repeat his behaviour -- he's learned to open up. Lorelai, on the other hand, still to me, even at this time, reacts first and thinks later. It's been her MO from the very beginning. Maybe it's just the way she has survived all her years. If there are any doubts of repeat behaviour, I'm betting on her rather than him.
