| So funny - it's the diner scene, and it's extremely awkward.
Lorelai hesitates before going in, then takes a deep breath and does it. Kirk tells her she can't have her old stool back, he's claimed it. Babette and Miss Patty are there, and do a double-take when she walks in. Very awkward between Luke and Lorelai; he asks if she wants coffee, and gives her a completely different mug. He asks how she is, and vice versa, and they talk about the inn, the diner and the weather. They both look uncomfortable, so she decides to take her coffee and go back to work. __________________ The whole business is built on ego, vanity, self-satisfaction and it's total crap to pretend it's not
