Luke: You can't buy a new car because it's shiny and pretty and fun!
Lorelai: Why not? My jeep was old and and had too many miles and it let me down!
Luke: It's a solid car, good on gas, and maybe it just needs a tune up or new carbarator or ok, maybe it does need a couple of new sparkplugs, but you shouldn't just get rid of it, especially if you've had it all these years! It's always been there for you and Rory, you just never took care of it!
