To be able to say we live in a free and democratic society, the rights we enjoy have to benefit people we don't particularly enjoy or, in this particular case, people that freak the freaking heck out of us. If freedom of speech and expression was only reserved for people who expressed themselves in way deemed proper by any group of any kind, then that wouldn't be democracy at all. Nor would this be a free society.
A lot of groups skirt the law very closely, but so long as they don't break it, they have to be tolerated, even if none of us like it, because this is not an authoritarian regime.
