The thing of it is, Rory saying no to a proposal is not conducive to a "soulmate friends" ending.

You would think what we'll get is a "I never wanna see you again" ending.

Judging from 7.18, it would seem things are going great for R/L, with Rory telling Lorelai she's glad that Lorelai is "getting to know him" (Why is she "glad", I wonder, it's not like she wants to marry him)

Logan ain't even in 7.19

Whatever happens in 7.20 can't be bad, since Logan thinks Rory is ready to hear a proposal in 7.21...

Logan (and the unspoiled audience) is going to be blindsided on a bended knee.

I don't think he's gonna want to be friends after this...It's over.

Remember Abby's "broken up for good" and the tourguide's "Logan's done & gone."

To complete my nightmare Rory's next job could be in Philadelphia. (I think Alexis is being written out regardless of whether there is a season 8, given the CA spoiler.) At least that'll give the Lits some measure of happiness.

As for Logan, he'll grow bitter, go back to his father and marry a "trophy" wife.

Peachy!
