MTV's "The Real World" will be in town in early April looking for roommates to join the 20th season of the granddaddy of all "reality" shows.
And supervising casting director Damon Furberg has some good advice for wannabe cast members:
"We don't want to cast people who feel like emulating behavior they've seen on the show, or acting like a particular person that we've already seen is going to help them out.
"I almost immediately tune out when somebody says, 'I'm just like Puck,' " he tells Inside TV & Radio. Puck was the on-camera name of scruffy bike messenger David Rainey, whose disruptive behavior got him kicked off the show in the 1994 San Francisco season.
"Puck was cool," Furberg says. "He was definitely one of the biggest personalities we've had on the show. But we already had Puck on the show. We don't need Puck Jr."
So what is Furberg looking for?
"In the past, we've sort of discouraged people who have entertainment industry-related goals. This time, we're actually looking for some people like that. We're trying to get back a little bit to the roots of the show, getting some people on who come into the house with goals - career goals."
The 18th season is airing at 9 p.m. Wednesdays on MTV. Season 19 is filming in Sydney, Australia, and this set of auditions is designed to fill the house with seven roommates for the 20th season in an as-yet undisclosed location.
Auditions are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on April 3 - that's a Tuesday - at Rock Bottom Brewery, 740 N. Plankinton Ave. Applicants must be between 18 and 24 and supply a non-returnable picture of themselves and a photo ID.
You also can apply by sending in a 5-minute taped audition, but the deadline is Monday. Details are available at Bunim-Murray Productions.
