| Mots, I wonder if I saw you today...how weird!
Since others were very recently on the tour and since I was a terrible first-timer, I'm sure this report will be totally worthless! But, I'll give it to you anyway
I only got to see Stars Hollow and the Gilmore mansion. I was SO dissappointed that they were filming at the DFI because it meant I couldn't see Lorelai's house...the ONE thing I wanted to see
Random observations: There were lights on all the trees and on the gazebo. There was a random flower tied to one of the trees -- did you see this Mots? I'll post a picture of it if I get a chance. There is a bar that I'd never noticed before, but I guess it was the one Christopher went to? I'm not sure; I'll rewatch MF. The dollhouse wasn't as bad as I imagined it to be. Just a little smashed in...not totally destroyed. No name plates at the mansion dinner table. No new sets being built. Chuppah is still in place. Kelly Bishop's car was there, but I couldn't catch the names of the other parking spaces. (I swear, seeing the parking spots was seriously the most exciting part of the tour. What's wrong with me?) Lorelai's new car was not in her driveway on either of my tours.
On the first tour, I asked my tour guide for spoilers/anything, and he said he couldn't do that. He wasn't very friendly and always made sure I wasn't wandering off. So, against my dad's "you're being ridiculous", I took the tour again and got a nicer guide. I didn't get to see anything different, but we spent some time talking after the tour and these are the random things I got from the conversation: When I asked if AB was still the only one holding up the renewal, he said that's what he heard. But when I told him the information Jason and Sarah's tour guide gave them, he said he would believe it. He asked which cast member had told the guide this info, but I couldn't remember (or maybe we were never told? I forget.) But he hasn't heard anything for sure. He said he's surprised that there is no official word yet. Interestingly, the very first thing he told me was that LG and SP really don't get along...he said they are respectful of each other but that's as far as it goes. Who knows where he got that from, though. He said the entire cast is very friendly, but MC and SP are especially friendly. These two are particularly nice/appreciative when fans approach them on the lot. He thinks the internet fanbase is a little nutty, and he said the cast is well aware of their fanbase and the devotion of their fanbase. He brought up the huge group that went on the tour a few weeks ago and said he thought it was funny.
Ok two random tidbits, one from the first tour guide and the other from a museum employee. The first tour guide said that yesterday, they shot a scene with Sookie, Jackson, Lorelai, and Paul Anka on Lorelai's porch. And the museum employee said she saw something filmed with balloons last week, but she couldn't remember where. At first, she told me it was a graduation. I questioned it because I knew it wasn't that, and she said she's not completely sure. Maybe the balloons were for the 150th episode celebration. I have no idea, but she didn't seem like she knew what she was talking about.
Anyways, I know this is long and for the most part unhelpful, but I just wanted to document it! The whole thing was so surreal, but it also made me feel very silly. CIP-ness does NOT translate well in real life LOL. I keep searching for ways to explain to my family/friends/anyone(!) why I love and am obsessed with this show...and I can never find the words!
