Man I am so glad I spent the day drinking martinis in a restaurant down town cos that previous thread was highly entertaining.
Is a spoiler a foiler if it don't come true? Or is it something worse? (To paraphrase The Great Bruce).
Maybe it's just a mistake. Maybe the storyboard was changed, the script rewritten, the scene deleted. Geesh, even those "reliable" sources who steal scripts and callsheets could be wrong if all that happens. Should all spoilers come with disclaimers? I guess so, since as soon as one doesn't come to pass, the pitchforks and torches come out and the cries of "Off with her head!" begin.
Here's a simple truth: Not all spoilers come true. Some are foilers, deliberately put out there to mess with people. Some are misinformation, or misinterpretations. Some were true at one point but as Luke said, "Things change". "Caveat emptor". If you chose to visit a spoiler board, prepare yourself for possible bad news and for the possibility that it may not be true.
Now excuse me while I go looking for some more advil. And
CH, lemon and
sher, say what you want about me,
but at least I don't come here using new identities or aliases. My name is on all those non-spoilers you gleefuly love to pull out to prove how unreliable I am. Pretty soon I'm going to ask if I can get credit in my post counts for all the times the three of you quote me. I think it's only fair
