Well, that was the Luke we know and love.
I think that maybe April sees the boat, asks about it and when she hears it was her grandfather's and her Dad had been working on it, she says that she'd like to sail it with Luke, even though she gets nauseous on the water, but NM is so dry, etc. etc. ..... Perhaps Luke then decides about the "life changes", to take the boat trip with April and that's when he calls Lorelai up asking to store his boat again. |
