| Okay, I am going to fess up something. It happened when I went for my lunch with SP. I managed to cultivate a possible connection (friendship?) with someone who works on the set (and is not an actor).
This person and I have been emailing back and forth since then and now has given me some inside info. To protect this person’s identity, I won’t even disclose their sex. I made no mention of this person in my recap (in other words it was not the intern, Cat).
Anyway, I just receive the following information regarding the contract negotiations.
My Friend (whom I will refer to as MF – dirty) was privy to a conversation by some the WB executives discussing the status of the negotiations for the eight season. MF heard the executives admit that no one has contacted any of the other actor’s representatives to start negotiations yet. They are concern that they might loose some of the cast and even crew to other jobs if they don’t nail them down soon. The execs admitted that they are stalling until Lauren and Alexis agree to sign. Apparently the girls are asking for lots and lots of money (enough money that it might derail the whole option of an eight season).
The feeling seems to be that the girls will hold out until the very last possible moment before they agree (if at all) which is leaving everyone connected with GG in a state of high anxiety about the future. Lots of jobs hang on an eight season and if there isn’t going to be one, the other actors and technicians want to start looking for other work.
Apparently even Scott has not been contacted regarding next season because the execs discussed a meeting he had with them in which one of his requests was to be allowed to pursue other work. According to what MF learn, Scott pointed out that he has always been loyal and appreciate of the opportunity that GG gave him but if there isn’t going to be another season or if he isn’t going to be part of it, he wants the opportunity to try for another series (I guess it is pilot season in Hollywood and he has been approached).
Basically, they brushed him off saying that they couldn’t discuss anything with him until Lauren and Alexis made up their minds. Lauren and Alexis are not giving the cast or crew any hints about the future and the set is getting tense. |
