Agagin, I see no evidence of this. He's devoted to HIS family. He's never encouraged Lorelai to be closer to Emily & Richard. He avoided them in IO, YO. He didn't want to go to their house for dinner, even though he was engaged to their daughter in YBG. 21ITLN he didn't want to go to their house. They were about to become his inlaws, and he wanted nothing to do with them. What he did in a crisis, and perhaps with Richard almost dying he felt some guilt over his not wanting to have anything to do with them in the past, he wanted to do something kind. But he's really avoided Emily & Richard when given the opportunity.

Heee! I've got so many parts of my body crossed my yoga instructor thinks I've ODed. I'm turning into a pretzel!

I'm sure Babette and Miss Patty will be thrilled.
I would hope not, and I really don't think Rory cares. Unlike her mother. Otherwise she would have brought Logan home long ago. Wanting people that you grew up around to meet the person you might be spending your life with is different from seeking their approval. Something she has done with Lorelai, Chris, Emily & Richard. Fun interactions with Patty, Babette, Kirk, etc., is just a bonus.

Lorelai pretty much stated she was seeking the town's approval in KPK. Otherwise there was no reason for the "If you're in with Jackson, you're in with the town," mandates, wardrobe changing, etc. She clearly does care what the town thinks of her choices and wants their approval. The fact that they withheld it really freaked her out.

I also don't think he's actually going, Alan & Tanc aren't in the ep description, which makes me sad. I have a feeling Rory's going to yell at him, maybe about the last time he went off half cocked and did something without properly testing the potatoes in advance.

Ever since I heard about Logan and the cheese rolling thing in England, (it was cheese rolling wasn't it?) I have thought that he would love to hit one of the cheesy festivals. I have also found it odd that they rarely put Lorelai and Logan in the same room. Are they afraid the world would explode or what? It seems odd to me that they don't. Hello, Rory lives with him, but he isn't allowed to come to SH, unless he is trying to get her back? Weird. It makes me feel like Rory is finally letting him all the way into her life. So, YAY!
That's the way I feel too. She's never felt like she HAD to bring Logan there, but it's nice to see her opening up all areas of her life to him.

Anyway, I hope that's how it's portrayed.
Logan's never felt a need to flash his cash, but I would also hope he will feel no need to hide who he is. I hope he drives into town in his Porsche, uncaring what they all think of him. Otherwise how incredibly classist of all of them. Being much the same snobs they were in KPK, which was insufferable.

I doubt Rory would either.

Which Rory? We never saw that Rory. I sometimes feel like people want to stick Rory in a jar of formaldehyde and preserve her as we met her. All parents face their children growing up and changing, that's part of life.

Jess's guardian & uncle. Do you really think she went to see Luke for any other reason?

It is the dichotomy of parenting. You want them to grow up and succeed, but you also want to keep them frozen in amber with cherub cheeks and innocent eyes.

No. Which is part of my reasoning for her to now be alone. She needs to accept herself, as is.

Why would she be a business tycoon? There's no indication, even if she were to go into business with Logan that she's going to be a business tycoon. If they were go partner up it more than likely would have meant he was cutting himself loose from his family, and she was throwing her lot and fortunes in with him. That's not becoming an instant tycoon. It's a very unsure future, that I'm sure they would eventually make work, but it would be a great deal of work.

I would agree, the town, and her friends in it are more important to Lorelai than her family. Her parents, at least. As we've been shown, thus far. Which is part of the reason for my skepticism about how much contact she would have with Emily & Richard, as things currently stand, if Rory were out of the picture. I think it would be minimal.

Thanks for the transcript, 2GGobsessed.
