DM: Mike, let’s finally talk about this weeks Gilmore Girls. Uhm, a listener named Suzie says---
AC: Fastforward the next few minutes if you don’t watch.
DM: ---“Chris not answering his phone was pretty selfish, I hope that comes up next week. And can we please give Scott Patterson some daps” I guess that’s the new version of props “some daps for his excelent performance this season, he gets better and better
AC: What the hell is a ‘dap’?
DM: --- and the look he gave Christopher as he walked away was great.”
MA: What right did Christopher have to come into that hospital after being gone the whole day and then rail into Lorelai?
AC: Yeah, the first words out of his mouth should have been “I’m sorry about your father, what can I do?”
MA: Right. “I’m sorry I couldn’t be here, this is why I didn’t answer your calls, blablahblah.”
AC: “Your six phonecalls.”
MA: Not “What is Luke doing here?” I’m—really, I feel like they’re destroying the character of Christopher.
AC: They’re making him horrible. Horrible
MA: Not that he was this lovable person, but now he’s really unlikable.
AC: And especially…
DM: They’re setting him up as if he’s the fall [???] guy.
AC: Right, and especially, they’re making--- they, you know, went through great lenghts to show what a nice guy Logan has become, even though he wasn’t a good boyfriend-material before, like, he went out of his way to be there for Rory this week, and not, you know, whatever. Like, they really went out of their way to make him look good and make Christopher look horrible, to, like, distinguish just because they have the same upbringing they’re not the same person.
DM: Although, you know, what do you feel like if you’re Christopher, you know, okay, you missed out, you feel guilty, come around the corner, and there’s this freaking Luke-guy again and he’s got like tenthousand bags of food.
AC: It’s not like they were making out!
DM: Still.
MA: I just think in that moment, it’s not about his feelings toward Luke and about the situation.
DM: It’s about her dad.
MA: It’s about Lorelai and her dad, and it would have been nice to have seen him.
DM: Who happens to be his father-in-law, as well.
MA: Right.
DM: I hear you. I hear you.
MA: That said, there were some great things in the episode.
AC: Emily.
MA: Some great Emily-moments, I liked the Rory-Logan stuff, it’s nice to see him step up and them being sort of in a good place. There’s just some really nice mother-daughter-moments with Lorelai and her mom, in the gift shop, when her mom kind of broke down. You know, really some nice moments.
DM: And Craig wants to know, Mike, will there be any ensuing relationship between Rory and Christopher after Christopher is sort of not with Lorelai anymore?
MA: Well, I would imagine so, you know…
DM: He could just disappear for the rest of the season, right, and they don’t need to---
MA: Well, I don’t know.
AC: But they’ve always had sort of like a phone-call here and there kind of thing.
MA: On again, off again. Yeah.
END 37.01
