| Back then ASP was a master at weaving in humor into otherwise sad situations. One of my fave scenes of Lorelai was when she went to buy underwear for her grandmother - it was so touching but also had a whiff of humor in it. The balance was perfect.
That, for me, is what was missing this past week. I would have loved some wit in the custody hearing, a little something even in the L/L fight or in something Luke said to Lorelai when he called her to say he won, something in the Rory/Lucy scene. It was all just so mediocre and unimaginative. Oh well. |
