But that's kinda my point. She thinks there's no way the crazy cat lady could possibly be happy. That to be happy she has to have this *whole package* she tells Luke about in TLHCD as Mimi. But the pursuit of and fleeting moments she's gotten it haven't made her truly happy. I think, because she's not totally comfortable, happy and at peace with herself. Which is part of what the jokes are about. Covering pain.

Lorelai shouldn't be pursuing her *package* as a goal, but peace & happiness. Out of those will flow contentment, either with a partner or without. But she's going at this backwards. She's using men to try to fill holes in her life. She needs to fill those holes herself.

BTW, I'm not terribly fluent in ASP pronoucements, but did she say Lorelai would fall in love with Luke, I know that's true. Or did she say she would fall in love, marry & make a life with him? They're two different things.
