She's never been alone in her life, not really, and I think that's what scares her most. She's never really been single. She always had Rory as her copilot to go through life with. But it's just this idealized image she's dreamed up, not real life played out with someone. To me the point is maybe that's not what's going to make her happy, maybe it's Lorelai finally being at peace and happy with herself. Something she's never done. | I hope that Lorelai does end up being at peace and happy, but I think she will also get her whole package but not the way she originally fantasized about it (with Christopher). I think it was in "Christopher Returns' that Luke tells her she was going to get her "whole package". When she questioned him how he knew, he told her very confidently and adamantly that she will. This can been seen as an anvil that she will get her "whole package" but in a different wrapping (With Him!!).
