Emma and Rupert gave an interview to ONE Magazine, a french publication, for their December '06/January '07 issue:

The filming of “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” having ended, the actors are starting to reveal some of the best kept secrets of this highly expected movie of the series. For One, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint talked about the filming of the 5th episode of the learning wizard’s adventures and also make a few confidences about the next and last two movies.

Each “Harry Potter” is darker than the previous one. Is it going to be the same with OOTP?

Rupert Grint: Absolutely. This time, Harry has to conquer his own demons rather than face dragons or other devilish creatures. OOTP will definitely be darker than GOF.

How is David Yates, director of OOTP, different from the other directors you’ve worked with?

Emma Watson:
Davis is very exact and very meticulous when it comes to how we act. He is always looking for perfection and is not afraid to shoot the same scene several times until our performance is perfect. It is often tiring, but I feel I have progressed as an actress.

Rupert: Comparing to Mike Newell, director of GOF, David is really calm. He always keeps his cool, which wasn’t always the case with Mike. if we couldn’t do exactly what he wanted, or if we got one of our lines wrong, he would raise his voice or even tell us off. I must admit I found him a bit scary sometimes [laughs]. David is more patient and calmer.

It has now been more than 6 years that you know each other. Can you still stand each other?

Emma: [laughs] I must admit I find it hard sometimes! No, I am joking, of course…. Our friendship is not fake, and today I kind of consider Rupert and Daniel [Radcliffe] like my brothers. For 6 years, we have seen each other nearly everyday and we have learned to know each other very well. Rupert and Daniel have a big place in my life. We have been there for each other during the bad times on set, and we also have shared lots of fabulous experiences together.

Rupert: I also consider Emma like a member of my family. A lot of people are surprised that we don’t see each other much when we are not filming. But you have to understand that we see each other all day almost everyday. if we were together 24/7 we couldn’t stand each other anymore! [laughs]

You have just finished filming the 5th Harry Potter movie. Do you want to do the next two?

Rupert: Yes, definitely. Quitting the adventure now would be such a shame. Also, I don’t think I could stand seeing somebody else in the role of Ron! It would be painful![/b]

Emma: I haven’t taken any decision yet. I am still unsure as to playing Hermione in the next 2 movies. Each movie takes 10 months of our year, during which we barely see our friends. It is really exhausting. And I am thinking about my education. I would like to go to university… So I am still thinking about it.

Rupert: It would be silly to stop when you are doing so well. To be honest, playing opposite somebody else than you would feel really weird. When we filmed the 4th movie you said the same thing, I think you will keep on doing the HP movies…

Emma: You may be right…

[laughter]

Emma, does it mean you’re unsure you want to stay an actress?

Emma: I really don’t know. Daniel and Rupert are so confident when it comes to their future, they know they are meant to be actors, but I don’t know. Before HP I didn’t have any experience as an actress, I had never been to an audition. Cinema came to me by chance! I would like, like Rupert did, to play in different movies and also theater to have a real audience in front of me. I am giving myself time to know what I want to do after HP. There’s no hurry…

Do you enjoy being recognised in the street or wearing nice stylish clothes for premieres?

Rupert: The glamorous aspect of this job doesn’t really attract me. I often feel uncomfortable at premieres or parties. When it comes to being recognised in the street I am still not used to that, even though it’s been going on for 6 years. It still feels weird to be known all around the world.

Emma: I feel the same. I still feel uncomfortable when people talk to me in the street, I am quite shy. When it comes to premieres, unlike Rupert, I love it! It's probably because I'm a girl! It feels really nice to dress up to look good in front of the cameras.

What is the best thing that fame has brought you?

Emma: Being able to travel around the world, and in first class as well! [laughs] If I hadn’t starred in HP, I would have never visited China, Japan or New York … That is really great.

Rupert: We’re given lots of free stuff, or even deductions in shops. That’s quite cool! [laughs]

Does it make things easier to meet a boyfriend or girlfriend?

Emma: No, not at all! Often, boys don’t even dare talk to me, because they think I am out of reach and I am going to look down on them. It is not my style at all. I still haven’t found a boyfriend but I keep faith. I am still waiting for my Prince Charming.

Rupert: It's true, a lot of girls are after me only because I am in HP, I don’t like that. I would rather fall in love with someone who doesn’t know who I am!

Rupert, can you tell us about “Driving Lessons” the movie you shot before OOTP?

Rupert: I received the script when I was shooting GOF and I liked it instantly. I had been wanting to play in a movie different to HP, with no special effects, for a long time. It was a bit unsettling to shoot with such a small team, with no blue screen for special effects. But I had lots of fun, and I hope to do it again.

In this movie, you also have your first on-screen love scene.

Rupert: Yes, and it was obviously quite intimidating. But not as much than to have to watch this scene on the big screen, with all my family. I was really embarrassed! [laughs]

J.K. Rowling announced that several characters are going to die in the last book. Do you think Ron or Hermione will be one of those?

Rupert: I really don’t know! but if Ron as to die, it doesn’t really matter to me because it will be the last book! [laughs] But it would have bothered me if he had died earlier because I want to be part of the adventure until the end!

Emma: Everything is possible. I don’t know if Ron or Hermione will die in the last book, but it sounds very probable to me that they will share a kiss. It will happen one day, it is bound to happen!

Things sometimes gets lost in translation but this seems to be a fairly accurate version of the interview... although, nothing new was said... and the pics they included were from a few years ago but it's still a fun read!
