| Maybe it's just me but I got the feeling they tried to set up a bridge between now and Christopher Returns.
The whole telling Rory at diner thing reminded me of when they met with Straub and Francine at the Gilmore Masion. I mean Chris really turns into Straub. Lorelai tries to tell Rory about the "marriage" and he just cuts her short. He has the upper hand during the whole episode. We just got a climpse in season one of how Straub and Francine are but that was enough for me and LC turn into that. He's going to do all the talking. Lorelai will just sit there not saying anything. I can already picture their encounter with Emily and Richard and I bet Richard will be the one who's going to take Lorelai aside and asking her what the hell she's doing. Where is that independent woman he was so proud of.
And the big You're a liar comment from Lorelai - for me totally an anvil. Chris lied in Christopher Returns about his business and how he really was doing. Something is coming.
