| Quote: | I like the fact that, as we all suspected, Luke becomes a helper during Richard's time of Crisis and Chris does not. I wonder if During all this someone < like one of Emily's DAR friends mistakes Luke as Emily's Son-In-Law.. and instead of correcting the person she makes a freudian slip like he should be or he could have been.
I love the fact the Luke can once agin be there for Emily and Lorelai. |
I really like this scenario. Some DAR gals looking up to responsible family man Luke, mentioning it to Emily and making her realize what she'd overlooked for so long because of her prejudice.
The problem I have with the story for Lorelai now, is what epiphany or journey exactly is she going to have, what are they supposedly showing us? She already told Lynnie that Luke was the only guy she thought she'd ever loved, that he was a real man, solid and strong and would protect her, and got her, and she also realized how much he cared for Rory. She saw him as a caring family man - respecting his uncle's burial wishes, speaking fondly of his Dad and having a dark day each year on the anniversay of his death, taking Jess in, helping and caring about Liz, loving father to April. She already knows all that, and knew it was what she loved about him and what she wanted. She knows and knew - so what's new?
And about the other world, her parents' world we thought she might be checking out with Christopher - I don't see that either. On the contrary, she brought Chris back to her world, to quirky but homey Stars Hollow. So, it doesn't seem like she's contemplating that choice any longer.
I do want to see how they plan to show us how reality strikes Lorelai, but right now, I still feel that not only is the timing absolutely wrong with this Chris SL, but that no realizations should be life changing new to her, either. |
