After watching the show last night the big thing I came away with is that Lorelai and Christopher are not interesting not matter what happens. They could have been highjacked on their way back from Paris, dropped off in Antarctica, surrounded by man eating penguins and forced to eat their leather shoes and it still would not have been interesting. Paris streets, fancy hotels, romantic beds piled high with sparkling white linen, dinner in front of the Eifel Tower, nothing! And Lorelai's totally phoney "sudden realization" that Chriss bribed the restaurant. Come on! That was just so fake. She would have figured it all out in seconds. I used to complain that Christopher was smarmy, his new totally whipped mush persona is almost making me feel empathy for the character. Him as Lorelai's stalker is no longer funny, it's creepily real. And he sure wasn't crying many tears over Gigi. (As in, "I've got Lorelai all to myself, Gigi who?" ) Somebody should tell the writers that for the TV watchers to care about a story the characters have to have a life. People with no ideas, no concerns, no life ,can elope in Paris or trek across the Sahara but no one will care. There was totally no drama, just dump the kid, yawn, babble, get married, big yawn, home again.
