I don't know how he deals with all this personal trauma especially when both the ladies work with him. Add that to the fact that he's the head of neurosurgery and vying for the Chief position.
This boy has a lot on his plate  | He does have a lot on his plate, but IMO all the characters do... It is a nice side of his personality that he wants to do the right thing, trying to give his marriage a shot.. But like you said, he's clearly still in love with meredith... It's a though call for him...
