But I agree with the rest of you. I don't think it qualifies as a good episodes, nevertheless, I love to go back and watch it again and yes, for the exact same reason that I read fanfic.
About Mulder and Scully being in character or not. I totally buy Mulder's behaviour. About Scully I'm not sure. Yes, it was kind of weird of her to shrug him off. I would believe that she was maybe a little uncomfortable with that much "fake" intimacy. I think it can be irritating if someone gets as close as you would like him to for the wrong reasons - if that makes any sense.
So, it's a fun eppy to relax together with Mulder and Scully and watch them smile and touch a little
