| I think when you put on a PDA with another relatively famous person in a foreign country, people in that country suddenly become pretty interested in finding out more about you than they knew before - hence the massive buzz searches. Throw in the fact that she's going through what amounts to a major divorce in that part of the world and the sudden curiosity is not surprising in the least. Voila - Josh's love life suddenly becomes grist for the international gossip mill.
Sadly, for someone like Josh who has always been loathe to discuss his personal life publicly and who prefers to let his work speak for him, it must be a little bit of a shock. However, it might also have been a bit naive to believe that no one in France would care, as that is where she lives.
