Maybe Alex gets hurt doing something that has to do with aliens, and they are using Kyle to keep that hush hush. Like he was working on something alien and fell or got cut and instead of having to answer a bunch of questions that they can't, Alex goes to Kyle? Or maybe Alex was inflicted by something alien related and perhaps Kyle can't find the cause or can only slow and not stop. So it leads to Michael's healing powers coming out and he heals Alex?
