I have a friend who's nickname is Shags, and for years I thought it was some dirty in-joke, until he told me that when he was 7, he was playing at a friend's house, and the friend had to go to his grampa's house, so he took Shags (Who's real name is Chad) with him. When they got to grampa's house, the friend goes, Grampa, this is my friend Chad, and the Grampa, who was slightly deaf goes, Shags? What kind of name is shags?! He misheard Chad for Shags.
