that's true though i sympathise with his decision - you know how easily one can freak gillian out and he thought it might be better not to upset her especially since the possibilities (as i understood it) where high that something could happen to the baby while giving birth - isn't that why she got a C-Section?
he didn't want it to come out until after the baby was born... but - as we say here - the devil is a squirrel. meaning when you really want to hide something, fate leads the other person and shows what shouldn't have been revealed.
