I literally don't remember anything about Eddie's boring ass, so he must of been pretty pointless. I agree the P/J breakup would of made more sense if they broke up when Pacey was at his lowest over the stockbroker job and losing Dawson's money. Or they could of just taken a break so Pacey could get himself together. It was just lazy to have Joey dump the love of her life over a plot point piece of cardboard but thankfully it turns out great in the end since she went to the person she always knew she should of been with.
