Greetings Testimonial from Dave
Time has really flown by fast. We just celebrated our 300K Milestone. Thank you for stopping by and Celebrating with us this December. For this celebration I wanted fo focus on our favorite Star Trek Memories
whether it's a character, a ship, a scene, and episode, etc.

Chris's Favorite Memory
First off I'd like to thank everybody who has posted here over the years. All posts are appreciated and I always look forward to reading new comments on various threads. Also a huge thank you to Dave for organizing this celebration.

As to memories:
  • For the franchise, I'm going to go with Spock's line from The Wrath of Khan: "I have been and always shall be your friend". I love that they found a way to include it when they rebooted the movie franchise. To me it embodies that the various crews are more than just co workers, they're friends and family which helps us care about the crew as people.
  • In regards to the board, our posting challenge in February of 2012 with the Doctor Who board still brings back fond memories of the whole community pulling together. It was a close contest and the lead went back and forth between the boards throughout the month so both boards remained motivated. We had some fun conversations on the off topic thread in between posting at the various discussions.
  • Favourite characters,
    - Q because he took the crews on some interesting adventures and those episodes of both TNG and Voyager are among my favourites.
    - Sylvia Tilly for her enthusiasm, sense of wonder and the way her character is used to lighten the mood when things get serious. ~Chris

Rita's Favorite Memory
US television’s first inter-racial kiss, openly gay characters, fighting for the equality of all people, giving women respected jobs and a hopeful vision of the future based on these values– I am proud to call myself fan of a tv show where love, forgiveness, understanding and acceptance is the driving force of the world. Thank you for further propagating this ethos, Star Trek Forum! My favourite memory is connected to Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. As a child from East Europe, I have not seen much of the show before or any previous movies, but Spock's bewildered reactions to 20th Century Earth had me laughing and made me want to catch up on everything I missed!
~Rita

Claire's Favorite Memory
Most Memorable Character: Captain Janeway:
I've loved seeing the evolution of Star Trek from the first steps of a show which did have women on it but didn't necessarily treat them equally, to the massively inclusive shows we have now.
I really loved the fact they were brave enough to have a female Captain, and other amazing female characters, who were true characters and not just token female parts who were there to look pretty. The mark of a good franchise is a show which grows and changes with the times, and still manages to excite us with it's plots and characters. Janeway was such a strong character who wasn't defined by her gender, but by her position, she took hard difficult decisions which her crew didn't necessarily go along with all the time, but her strength of mind and will would carry them all through.
At the same time she could be soft and vulnerable, and make mistakes, like any other flawed human being. She excited loyalty in her crew and had equal respect for them, helped them all in what would surely have been a stressful situation. I'm sure she is a character which has helped paved the way for the wonderful female characters now routinely included on Discovery and other shows.

Dave's Favorite Memories
Captain Kirk from the Original Series will always be my favorite and most memorable character. William Shattner is and will always be in my Science Fiction Hall of Fame of Actors. Captain Kirk has had so many adventures throughout The Original Series seasons and has overcome all the obstacles he's encountered.

My Most Memorable Post is the first Post I ever made on Star Trek. Source - July 1, 2012
