SWJaggy, I had the bad fortune of being in the middle of reading The Mists of Avalon when Marion Zimmer Bradley died, so I think that just made the depressing nature of the book that much worse. The King Arthur story always makes me sad though anyway. I loved that Morgaine was a sympathetic character in Mists, but I still found her life very frustrating.
| Soz, that's a bummer. I agree; I love how Morgaine is a sympathetic character in Mists. Since in a lot of the legends she is pictured as being a true evil character and only doing magic for her wants and not the wants of others. And I also agree; I too find her frustrating.
One things for sure, I'm glad I waited to read this book since seeing the movie back in 2001 b/c there are some adult scenes in them. |
