the music is amazing indeed. i rewatched the HD version of it in recent years at a movie festival and it's still really good.
The stand alone complex anime series also pretty good.
There's a new anime Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 on Netflix right now. I haven't watched it yet. Someone on the comics board said it was good.
