Thanks for your analysis. That pilot does require a knowledge of the film, but also there are significant differences in the way the stargate works in the TV show for example, which had to be done I think.
I have to agree with your comments they all seem to be reasonable reactions. The pilot also is in my opinion far more edgier and adult than the series was after that, but it serves well to set up the characters and the situation I suppose. Things like Daniel's allergies are largely forgotten afterwards, for example!
