I also feel a great deal of it is that our poor damaged boy Anakin is just SO fiercely protective of Padmé, that he’s convinced himself that HE’S the only one he can trust to protect her, or their secret. That Padmé is his responsibility and his alone to keep safe. He failed his mom, he failed Ahsoka... Padmé is his last chance to get it “right.”
