realmattlong Some bts from the last ep. Several of these are continuity photos taken by the makeup department. Continuity photos are taken to maintain a look day to day. Since we shoot many days for each episode and also don’t shoot the scenes in chronological order, it’s very important to have photos to reference each day of what we’ve previously shot. Every department takes continuity photos of their respective jobs. Props dept. takes photos of props and where they’re placed on the set so the props are in the same exact place and position for each take. Wardrobe does the same for clothes, making sure your shirt was open or buttoned or tucked in, exactly what height your jacket zipper was, etc. The Hair department, set decorators, and script supervisor does too. Scripty will take photos of the monitors so they can be sure we use the same hand to lift a pen or open a door or take a bite of food on the same line from take to take once it’s established. That way there’s continuity, and things always work out in editing from shot to shot. @nbcmanifest @nbc #nbcmanifest
